Backgroud and Needs
- Against the backdrop of growing tendency among railway organizations to collect/utilize railway accident/trouble data and safety information systematically in a bid to improve safety, needs have emerged to implement comprehensive railway safety information management to prevent railway accidents and improve viability of relevant public policies and efficiency of administrative services
- As railway accident is bound to result in not only significant human losses/property damages but also huge impact on national logistics network by nature, there are growing needs for comprehensive analysis of railway accidents and development of safety management plan
- As railway transports increasingly more freight and rising speed of railway trains poses increasingly bigger safety risks that may lead to not only significant human losses/property damages but also huge impact on national logistics network, it is necessary to enhance railway safety awareness and implement safety management plans in order to prevent recurrence of railway accident
